Lafayette has been on my “must-try” list since before it opened, and when I finally got the chance to go I was not at all disappointed. Having now made my third visit, and trying the excellent scallops shown above, I have to say that this is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The location is great, the service is friendly and attentive, especially at the bar, and the food is spectacular. This may not be the place for a budget meal, but the quality is hard to beat.

Laura Poitras is nothing if not determined. Despite constant efforts to put an end to her work, she continues to produce enlightening and compelling documentaries.

Saw this place a few times and finally decided to check it out for lunch. Unlike at dinner, there was no wait and the best part is the $20/$26 prix fixe. At lunch time, $20 can get you a mixed green salad and this generous portion of roasted Amish chicken. All in all, a great pick and a great addition to the area.
